Our Mission
F.A.T.E is a non-profit cofounded by 4 South Pasadena locals, with the mission to empower and support underprivileged and foster youth in gaining valuable educational opportunities for their future.
F.A.T.E raises funds for it’s own new unique idea of getting foster youth into the trades by throwing trade fairs and creating a pipeline for foster youth to find what industries excite them, and get them an internship, and eventually an opportunity in the field. We also use the funds to partner with other non-profit agencies in the foster space to help connect a large array of organizations to do the best good. Our goal is to raise funds with a variety of fun and entertaining events in the LA area. The events are designed to promote closer relationships with current donors, new donors, and potential sponsors, while making new friends in the community.
Our Four-Year Plan
As we grow our connections and resources we plan to scale our actions accordingly, moving towards doing the most good in the LA area, and potentially one day beyond!
Aged out foster youth account for the majority of the homeless population in Los Angeles and indeed across the United States. They are the at-risk population we are aiming to help get stability through jobs in the trades and the dedicated and passionate lifestyle and community that comes with it.
Our primary route right of getting people into the trades right now is through the Flintridge Center. They help underprivileged people to get a full education into a high paying union trade job across 14 different sectors.
Then, as we get more access to the aged out foster community and can handpick out candidates we will start to realize our goal in a small scale way.
Later, we’re going to start holding trade fairs for large groups of aged out foster youth and determine aptitudes and grow a database of applicants and start moving them into the programs.
As they get success, we’re going to take those people who went through the program and use them as mentors and counselors for the future generations of our program.
We have already begun to make connections with union reps and construction companies and as we start to make these larger connections we’ll be able to do our own placement of the aged out foster youth into those construction companies directly.
We’re hoping it’s really gunna make a difference that will be felt in a large way, and we need your help to make it happen!
